VDOT begins safety improvements to Rt. 50 Monday 3/7

An email from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reminds motorist of safety enhancement to Rt. 50 begin Mon. Mar. 7.

Motorist should be alert to single lane traffic and flaggers controlling traffic Mon. through Fri. through Oct..

Enhancement will affect approximately a 12 mile stretch of Rt. 50 from Poorhouse Rd. to the West Virginia line in Frederick County.

The improvements include shoulder widening, guardrail replacement and new rumble strips along the edges of the roadway.

This is a major project that will take sometime to complete with all projects are weather permitting.
