VDOT continues to treat roads

Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) crews continue to treat the roads the freezing continues to cause travel conditions to deteriorate.
Some safety tips include stay home until temperatures rise.
Give crews time and space to treat the roads, do not pass plows.
Keep a safe distance of at least five seconds behind the vehicle ahead of you.
Brake lightly to keep your tires from slipping on the pavement and slow down.
Watch for ice, down trees and power lines.
