VDOT recommends caution

A mixture of snow freezing rain sleet fell in the overnight making for slick spots early today.

With more precipitation on the way Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) recommends caution while traveling.

Allow for longer stopping distance and put distance between your vehicles.

VDOT is treating the roads as needed but refreezing and more precipitation is expected.

Interstate 66 and 81 are both listed in minor condition primary along with secondary roads are in moderate conditions caution is advised.
