Victim Of Fatal Apartment Fire Identified

The victim who was found inside of a Wednesday morning fatal apartment fire has been identified as Ms. Jennifer Lee Roberts, 51 year old female. Ms. Roberts was the sole occupant the apartment in which fire crews responded to on Wednesday Morning for a fire which significantly damaged the entire apartment complex and displaced the residents of 10 apartment units. The cause of the fire incident and manner of death continues to be investigated by the Warren County Fire Marshal’s Office, Front Royal Police Criminal Investigations Division, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Investigators have determined that the smoke alarms within the apartment unit where the fire incident originated were not functional at the time of the fire. Fire Officials remind the community to ensure that each sleeping room and common area of the residence are equipped with working smoke alarms. Fire and Rescue crews will be going door-to-door throughout the community in the area of this fire incident on Tuesday, February 5 th and Wednesday, February 6th checking smoke alarms and offering free alarms to be installed at no cost.
