Virginia Career Works Referral Portal created to help jobseekers
Gov. Northam unveiled a new online tool to help job seekers during the pandemic, the Virginia Career Works Referral Portal. The portal is a website designed to connect Virginians with the proper training, education and resources to find a job or advance a career path. Once you make your free account, you answer a few questions about your current employment status, background and goals. Afterwards, the site will recommend several steps for you to take, with assistance from Workforce Center professionals. The site is useful for Virginians of all ages and walks of life, with steps dedicated to veterans, single parents and those with disabilities.
The Virginia Career Works Dashboard debuted alongside the portal. The dashboard provides data on the workforce system and economy. Individuals, employers and policymakers can use this tool to monitor the economic landscape and adapt appropriately.
Northam’s full release on these new tools can be read here.
