Virginia State Police Handle Hundreds of Sunday Crashes

The Virginia State Police have released vehicle crash data from the incidents they responded to yesterday (1/14/2019).
From 12 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Virginia State Police troopers responded to 324 traffic crashes and assisted 196 disabled or stuck motorists statewide. In the Culpepper Division that contains the northern Shenandoah Valley, a total of 40 traffic crashes and 30 disabled vehicles were reported. At the time of their Sunday night release, troopers were investigating an additional 44 traffic crashes and assisting 11 more disabled vehicles. As of 5:30 p.m. yesterday, there was one fatal storm-related crash. More data from traffic incidents that occurred after 5:30 p.m. yesterday is expected later in the day.
