VSP and other authorities investigate the death of two near JMU

The Virginia State Police (VSP), Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO), Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) and James Madison University Police (JMUP) responded to a shooting Apr. 15.
ABC News reports that at approximately midnight a shooting was reported at the Redpoint apartment complex near James Madison University (JMU).
Authorities confirmed that a party was taking place where two males were killed by gunshots.
The two victims were identified as 22-year-old D’angleo Marquise Gracy of Rocky Mount North Carolina and a 17-year-old juvenal male from Harrisonburg.
The RCSO reported that the shooting appeared to be an isolated event that stemmed from an incident at the party.
Where there are no suspects in custody authorities do not believe there is a threat to the community.
Authorities are asking anyone who attended the party or has any information about the incident to contact the RCSO at 540-564-3800.
The two victims were not students at JMU and the property is not owned or connected to the campus.
Despite that the University’s newspaper the Breeze reports that JMU is offering counseling service for anyone who might experience grief with the loss of these community members.
