VSP investigate a fatal accident in Shenandoah County

Virginia State Police (VSP) report by email that they continue to investigate a two vehicle fatal accident in Shenandoah County.

On Nov. 5 at approximately 1 p.m. a 2006 Dodge Dakota failed to maneuver a curve on Route 675.

Crossing the double yellow centerline on Edinburg Gap Road the Dodge collided with a westbound 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The driver of the Dakota, 75-year-old Denis C. Kitner of Fort Valley suffered minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The 65 year old driver of the motorcycle, Joseph W. McGee of Hampstead Maryland died at the scene.

Kitner has been charged with reckless driving in the accident.
