VSP investigate reports of suspicious packages

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation of a suspicious package with  Virginia State Police (VSP).

The suspicious item was reported inside the Murphy Deming Health and Science’s complex in Fishersville Virginia.

A 911 call was received from an unknown male subject who claimed to find a backpack with exposed wires in a classroom on the school’s campus.

VSP and other Authorities evacuated the building but found no suspicious item.

It has been revealed that there were at least three other incidents of similar nature across the state.

Again no suspicious items were found in any of those cases either.

VSP and other authorities in the investigation don’t believe there was ever an active threat.

All the incidents remain under investigation and anyone with any information is asked to contact authorities.
