VSP investigating serious crash in Fauquier County

Virginia State Police Trooper M.D. Brill is investigating a three-vehicle crash in Fauquier County. The crash occurred February 7 at 2:46 p.m. A 2016 Freightliner tractor trailer was traveling north on Route 29 when it failed to stop at a red light and collided with a westbound 2015 GMC Acadia. The impact caused the tractor trailer to collide with a road sign, which struck a southbound 2015 Honda Civic.
The driver of the tractor trailer, Gurvinder Singh, 21, of Fresno, Calif., was not injured in the crash. Singh was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the GMC, a 66-year-old female, of Jeffersonton, Va., suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was flown to INOVA Fairfax Hospital. The female was wearing a seat belt.
A passenger in the GMC, a 13-year-old male, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was flown to INOVA Fairfax Hospital. The male was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Honda, a 50-year-old male, of Bealeton, Va., was uninjured in the crash. The male was wearing a seat belt.
Singh was charged with reckless driving. The crash remains under investigation.
Virginia State Police was assisted by VSP’s Division 2 Accident Reconstruction Team, VSP’s Motor Carrier Team, Fauquier Sheriff’s Office, Fauquier County Emergency Services and VDOT.
