VSP safely recover two juveniles and apprehend the abductor

On Oct. 17th at 2:30 p.m. Virginia State Police (VSP) Missing Children Clearinghouse issued an AMBER alert on behalf of the Hampton Police Department.

Both a female and a male child were believed to have been abducted by their father Timothy Truitt.

The children are 1 and 2 years of age respectively.

The Hampton Police Department reported Oct. 18th at 8:30 a.m. that the two children have been recovered safely and the AMBER alert has been cancelled.

Truitt has also been taken into custody.

The 36 year old Truitt was taken to a Walmart by the children’s legal guardian with the children.

Truitt separated himself from the guardian with the children and exited the building with help from an unknown male.

Truitt previously has had a warrant issued against him for unauthorized use of a vehicle as well.
