VSU officer shot by subject at large

A Virginia State University (VSU) police officer was shot after responding to a reported disturbance off campus at the Petersburg school.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. November 12 Officer Bruce Foster was shot by a suspect that remains at large.

The University was placed on lockdown until approximately noon November 12.

Virginia State Police report that the Federal Bureau of Investigation have joined the investigation with the Chesterfield County Authorities.

Anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact the authorities.

At last report Officer Foster was in stable condition.
