W.VA. State Police investigate a two-vehicle fatal crash

Hampshire County Sheriff’s Deputies and West Virginia State Police report responding to a fatal two-vehicle crash on Northwestern Pike Monday December 18.

Investigators determined that a Jeep Cherokee driven by Larry Moreland of Augusta County crossed the center line and collided head on with a Hyundai.

The Hyundai was being driven by Linda Richards of Capon Bridge.

Richards died at the scene as a result of the impact.

The 33-year-old Moreland was transported to Winchester Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by authorities to determine why Moreland crossed the center line.
