Warren County Authorities locate missing juvenile

A news release from Warren County Sheriff’s Office’s (WCSO) Major Jeff Driskill confirms that a Be On The Look Out (BOLO) order was issued Tues. Feb. 8.

A search was launched for a 13 year old missing juvenile near his home in the 2500 block of Rt. 340 Stonewall Jackson Highway.

The search around the boy’s home was unsuccessful so additional support was called in to help.

Additional deputies and K-9 units led to the river edge when water rescue equipment was brought in from Warren County Fire and Rescue (WCFR).

Air support was also added to the search along with Virginia State Troopers.

At 9:25 p.m. a RAVE emergency alert was sent out to area residents to look out for the young man.

That alert led to a tip from a citizen who reported a young man knocked on her door in the 8000 block of Rt. 340 asking for a drink of water.

At approximately 8 a.m. Thur. the search led to a shutdown of Rt. 340 for police activity it was shortly after that  the boy was found near the county’s waste disposal site.

The juvenile was medically evaluated and then reunited with his family.
