Warren County Board of Supervisors Approves Additional Paid Firefighters

4 January 2017 News

Tuesday January 3, the Warren County Board of Supervisors revisited last month’s discussion of how to best deal with a staffing crisis in the face of declining membership at South Warren Fire & Rescue Company 3.

Last night middle ground was found with approved funding for two paid staff positions for the final six months of the fiscal year at a cost of $65,000.  Fire officials sought four paid staff at nearly double the cost that would have provided full daily staffing.

South Warren Chief Alan Brockway hopes nothing happens on the off days. The off days will be around 9 to 11 days per month. This however, is an improvement over the current situation of no daytime staffing.
