
Warren County Contracts Attorney Regarding The EDA

Warren County has entered into a contract with Winchester-based Attorney Robert T. Mitchell, Jr. Mr. Mitchell is a partner with the firm of Hall, Monahan, Engle, Mahan & Mitchell which has offices in Winchester. Mr. Mitchell will be available to represent the Warren County Board of Supervisors in any instance that County Attorney Dan Whitten, who also serves as legal counsel for the Front Royal Warren County Economic Development Authority, would have a potential conflict in his representation of the Board of Supervisors.
According to County Administrator Doug Stanley, “We have retained Mr. Mitchell’s services to provide legal counsel to represent the Board of Supervisors on the accounting and debt service issues regarding the Economic Development Authority. Mr. Mitchell has decades of experience in local government law including representing Clarke County and we value his knowledge and experience. Time will tell how much his services will be needed on this matter.”
