Warren County Officials Head to Court
October 28, 2019
FRONT ROYAL – The Front Royal/Warren County Economic Development Authority Board and the Warren Board of Supervisors were at the Warren Circuit Court today for court hearings related to misdemeanor charges.
In September, 14 current and former members of those groups were indicted by the Virginia State Police for misfeasance and nonfeasance in relation to the Jennifer McDonald scandal. They were all charged on the basis of knowledge and inaction in the case of mismanagement of EDA funds.
The Warren County Board of Supervisors also had to make time for a Petition of Removal hearing. The Petition was filed by members of Warren County that want each member of the board removed from office by the Circuit Court. The reasoning for the filing was related to the prior misdemeanor charges and mishandling of tax-related funds.
No official statement has been made by any of the officials with relation to an explanation of the charges. Updates to this ongoing story will appear on the theriver953.com.
