Warren EDA Appoints New Executive Director

1 May 2019 Front Royal/Warren County News

The Front Royal Warren County Economic Development Authority has appointed a new Executive Director.

The EDA’s Board of Directors announced Monday (4/29/2019) that Mr. Douglas J. Parsons will fill the role. Parsons has served as the EDA Director for Lewis County for eleven years, and is currently the Business Manager for the Workforce Solutions Division of the Commonwealth’s Virginia Economic Development Partnership. He was chosen from a national pool of twelve candidates who were screened by a committee selected by the board, and was subjected to an intensive background check.

Parson’s appointment comes in the midst of a major controversy for the EDA, as it continues its $17 million civil suit against former executive director Jennifer McDonald and eight others, and after its offices were visited by the FBI and State Police in the course of their independent investigation. He will begin in his new role effective May 8, 2019.
