Warren Planning Commission Votes Against Development

15 April 2019 Front Royal/Warren County News

Last week, the Warren County Planning Commission voted against a rezoning request for a housing development near the Crooked Run Shopping Center.

Over a dozen citizens spoke up over the course of the meeting to express their concerns with the 1,000-plus unit development proposed by Crooked Run West LLC. They vocalized worries over a possible dramatic increase in traffic, lower potential future tax revenue, and the negative impact the development’s water needs could have on the Shenandoah River. Wednesday’s (4/10/2019)  2-1 vote from the commission means they have recommended that Supervisors not approve the developer’s rezoning request when the matter ultimately comes before them.

Warren County Administrator spoke to Janet Michael on The Valley Today’s Municipal Monday about this and other development topics today. You can hear that episode by clicking here.
