Warren school board approves FY 2021 budget
The Warren County School Board approved its $60.8 million operating budget for fiscal year 2020-2021 on Wednesday.
The budget has about $1.4 million less in state funding than expected with “no guarantee that additional reductions will not come later in the year as full effects of the pandemic are recognized in state tax collections,” according to Warren County Public Schools Interim Superintendent Melody Sheppard. If the effects are less than anticipated, additional funding may be available in the fall.
The board will place $536,030 into a contingency fund to cover additional shortfalls in revenue or to fund additional initiatives. The board also approved the cafeteria fund budget of about $3 million.
