Warren School Board Moves to Raise Teacher Salaries by Two Percent

26 April 2018 News

After a special meeting yesterday, the Warren County School Board moved to raise teacher salaries by two percent for next year.

The decision came after the Warren County Board of Supervisors approved its budget for the next fiscal year, which only supplied enough money for a one percent raise. The school board will make their two percent raise possible by budgeting $381,661 out of their $1.7 million surplus funds. Superintendent Greg Drescher was quoted as saying that prioritizing staff in this way is necessary to retain the county’s educators. The budget adjustment will go before the Warren County Board of Supervisors for approval next week.
