Washington State Now Allows the Composting of Bodies

Eek! It sounds freaky at first, but apparently this “weird news” is good news for the environment. Lots of harmful gases are released when a body is cremated, and space is wasted with a non-biodegradable funeral; for those reasons, Washington state has now approved the composting of human remains. Apparently, with the right mix of wood chips and straw, a body can naturally decompose, and the resulting soil substance can be used in gardens! It’s odd and interesting–check out the full story here!
