WCFR respond to accident on Skyline Drive
Warren County Fire and Rescue (WCFR) reports responding to an accident at mile post 1 on the Skyline Drive June 2.
When crews arrived they found an overturned sport utility on its roof.
The vehicle apparently collided with a rock retaining wall before landing on its roof.
The sole occupant of the vehicle was injured and found to be trapped inside the vehicle.
Firefighters quickly extricated the patient to allow Emergency Medical Service personnel initiate treatment.
The patient was transported by ambulance to Winchester Medical Center for further care for trauma.
Riders of the Skyline Drive or anywhere are reminded to always wear their safety restraints.
Drivers of the Skyline Drive are reminded that the maximum safe speed in the Shenandoah National Park is 35 miles per hour.
