WCSO warns of a scam

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) is warning residents of a recent scam in the region.

WCSO report they have taken complaints recently from people receiving phone calls that could be a scam.

Someone identifying themselves as being with the WCSO has placed calls to residents.

This person will tell the recipient that they are a Deputy Kerr or Kern or Lt. Foster.

Reports indicate that this person will tell the recipient that there is a warrant out for them regarding receiving photographs.

When questioned the caller has been known to become irate and even threatening.

If you receive a call of this sort you are advised to ask for a name hang up and call the WCSO for verification.

You are reminded to never provide any personal information to anyone over the phone.
