West Virginia Health Departments confirm a case of rabies

A rabies alert has been issued for Berkeley County West Virginia.

The Berkeley-Morgan County Health Departments were alerted to the report by the West Virginia Office of Laboratory Services.

Awareness of the case of rabies is specifically for the Arden Nollville, Inwood area of West Virginia.

The positive rabies diagnosis was confirmed in a skunk on November 21st.

If you believe that you or a pet has come in contact with the animal, you are advised to contact the Berkeley County Health Department or Animal Control.

All citizens are reminded to make sure their pets are current and up to date with vaccinations against rabies and always avoid contact with wildlife.
