Winchester and Mt. Jackson receive state grant funds

The Winchester City Main Street Sculpture Tail will receive $75,000 and Mount Jackson 5 will receive $50,000 in grant money from Virginia.

The grants are part of $690,000 announced by Governor Youngkin that will help fund 16 projects across the state in Virginia Main Street Communities funds.

The funding is to revitalize historic commercial districts to help expand small businesses in Virginia.

Governor Youngkin stated that by investing in small business communities and historic downtown Virginia helps to grow local economies ensuring that the state is open for business.

Virginia Main Street Downtown Investment Grants support Advancing Virginia Main Street Communities and are intended to fund complete projects.

The funds may also provide seed funding for new projects or provide gap financing that allow a project to become fully funded.
