Winchester announced the resignation of the EDA Director

The City of Winchester announced by email the resignation of the Economic Development Authority’s (EDA) Executive Director Rick Cobert effective immediately.
After only 4 months on the job there was no explanation for Cobert’s unexpected departure.
In the email former EDA’s Chairperson Jeff Buettner expressed gratitude for Cobert’s service to the authority and community during his tenure and wished him success in the future.
Buettner will now serve as the interim Executive Director of the City’s EDA.
The Authority’s Vice Chairperson Addie Lingle will assume the chairpersonship replacing Buettner.
City staff members will support the EDA as needed.
A national search for an Executive Director is expected to be launched soon.
