Winchester-Frederick County Kick Off Guided Tours
The Winchester-Frederick County Convention & Visitors Bureau and its partners are pleased to announce a schedule of guided tours that will take place this spring through fall. A wide variety of tours are available for residents and visitors to learn about the Winchester-Frederick County area and its rich history.
In addition, the City of Winchester is celebrating its 275th anniversary in 2019, and numerous events are planned to commemorate the city’s unique past. More information can be found at: http://www.winchesterva.gov/275th-anniversary
Guided History Walking Tours of Old Town Winchester take place from May-October on the second Friday of the month at 6pm* and the third Saturday of the month at 10am. The tours last about an hour, and the cost is $10. Reservations can be made by calling the Winchester-Frederick County Visitors Center at (540) 542-1326. Participants meet the guide at 2 N. Cameron Street, Winchester.

Guided Civil War Tours of Historic Stephens City are available June-October, on the fourth Saturday of the month at 10:30am. The tour cost is $5, and participants meet at the Newtown History Center, 5408 Main Street, Stephens City. Advance reservations are required by calling (540) 869-1700.
Who’s Buried in Mount Hebron Cemetery? Walking Tour is offered on select Saturdays, May 18, July 20, August 17, September 21, and October 19 at 1pm. The cost is $5. Meet the guide at the gatehouse of Mount Hebron Cemetery on East Lane, Winchester. Call the Winchester-Frederick County Convention & Visitors Bureau for reservations at (540) 542-1326.
Kernstown Battlefield Walking Tours take place every Saturday, May-October, at 11am and 1pm. For reservations call (540) 869-2851. Tours are free. Meet at the battlefield, 610 Battle Park Drive, Winchester.
