Winchester/Frederick County “Shop ‘n Save” Stores Closing

10 August 2018 News

Shop ‘n Save announced yesterday that it will be shutting down several locations; stores closing include five in the Winchester and Frederick County area.

The five locations–249 Sunnyside Plaza Circle, 707 Fort Collier Road, 159 Grocery Avenue, 190 Delco Plaza, and 2600 Valley Avenue–are part of 13 total stores that will be closing across Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland by September 8th. In all, four stores will shut their doors in Hagerstown, one in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, two in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and one in Kearneysville, West Virginia.

These new closures come after the company announced in March that the Fairfax Pike Shop n’ Save would not be renewing its lease. The action reflect a shift in parent company Supervalu’s focus towards wholesale, which accounts for about 75 percent of their income revenue.
