WINCHESTER – The Winchester City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to hire a new full-time city attorney. The new attorney is a team from the Harrisonburg based law firm Litten and Sipe.

Litten and Sipe was founded in 1877 and has a central focus in local government law. The firm will charge the city a flat rate of $250 per hour for day-to-day services.

Winchester has not had a full-time attorney since former city attorney Anthony Williams left the position in February to work the same position for the city of Petersburg.
