Winchester home becomes Historic Landmark
The U.S Department of the Interior has designated Winchester native Patsy Cline’s home on Kent Street a Historic Landmark.
Famed classic country artist Patsy Cline was born Virginia Patterson Hensley at Winchester Memorial Hospital.
Patsy lived in the home at 608 S. Kent Street, on and off, more years than any other location in her early years.
This includes her early singing career up until 1957 the same year she appeared on television for the first time.
The home was closed for all of 2020 because of the pandemic but The Patsy Cline Historic House hopes to open by this summer if not spring.
