Winchester man involved in fatal crash in Rappahannock County

Virginia State Police (VSP) report by email that a Winchester man was involved in a fatal crash in Rappahannock County.

Just before 3:50 p.m. January 26 VSP were called to a crash on Route 211 in Rappahannock County.

The driver of a 2018 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling west on 211 at a high rate of speed failed to negotiate a curve.

The driver crossed the double solid yellow centerline and collided head-on with an eastbound 2018 Mazda CX-9.

Despite wearing a helmet, the motorcycle driver Kono Yang was killed by the impact.

The driver of the Mazda, 68-year-old Stephen L. Regeimbal of Winchester and his female passenger were both wearing their seatbelts and were left uninjured in the crash.

The 28-year-old Yang was from Burke Virginia and the crash remains under investigation with speed likely a major factor in the incident.
