Winchester Police warn of counterfeit currency

The Winchester Police Department (WPD) reports that they are investigating cases of persons passing counterfeit currency.

Most recently an unidentified person used counterfeit money at a Family Dollar store on May 1 with another case being reported in March.

Police continue to investigate the incidents and anyone with information is asked to contact the WPD.

Authorities remind venders to be extra vigilant when making exchanges especially with increased visitation during the Apple Blossom Festival.

Anyone with any information or any additional cases of counterfeit money exchanges should notify the WPD.
