Winchester School Board Approves Pay Increases

25 April 2019 Winchester News

Winchester’s School Board has approved pay increases for Winchester Public School staff.

The action came Monday (4/22/2019), and was a part of the school system’s new pay scale for fiscal year 2020, which starts on July 1st. With this approval, teachers and staff could now have cost-of-living and cost-to-compete raises, bringing teacher salaries to within $400 of those in Frederick County. Implementing these pay hikes would cost over $2 million. They won’t be finalized until City Council makes a decision on its school system funding in its 2020 operating budget.
