Winchester Shop ‘N Save Closing

12 June 2018 News

Jack Walker, property manager of the Winchester Shop ‘n Save grocery store at 2584 Valley Avenue announced yesterday that the store will be closing.

The property itself, located in the Southpark Shopping Center, is owned by Walker & Company Real Estate; Walker was quoted as saying that his lease with Shop n’ Save was up for renewal, but that the grocery store chain elected to close the store rather than extend the lease.

This comes after the Shop ’n Save at 380 Fairfax Pike near Stephens City took the same action, closing in March when its lease expired. Walker’s firm also owns the Northpark Shopping Center off Berryville Avenue in Winchester, where there is another Shop n’ Save location; according to Walker, however, that store’s lease isn’t up until 2021. In all, six Shop n’ Save locations remain in the Winchester, Frederick, and Berryville area.
