Winchester Shoplifter Indicted

21 March 2017 News

Rhonda Renee Ward has been indicted by a Frederick County grand jury on the charges of shoplifting, eluding, reckless driving, and driving on a revoked or suspended license. These charges stem from an incident that took place on December 10, 2016.

Ward was reported to Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies around 2pm that day when she fled from Wal-Mart after she was observed shoplifting. Deputies spotted her vehicle but she refused to stop. After leading officers on a chase, she was forced to stop the vehicle when patrol cars surrounded it.

At the time of her December arrest, the 32 year old was already on probation, stemming from a 2001 shoplifting case. She now faces having her suspended time revoked that she was granted in a plea deal in the original case.

Ward is currently being held at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center without bond. She is scheduled to appear in Frederick County Circuit Court on April 6.
