Winchester Women on the Bench

WINCHESTER – The “Winchester Women on the Bench” event is coming to the former Frederick County Courthouse at 7 P.M. on Sept. 23.

The Honorable Elizabeth K. Burton and Elizabeth T. Trosch will speak on their decision to study the law, and the reasoning behind becoming judges.

Burton is a district court judge for the 26th Judicial District’ Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court in Virginia. She received her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and her Juris Doctor Degree form the University of Virginia Law School.

Trosch is a district court judge for the 26th Judicial District, serving Mecklenburg County of North Carolina. She was first elected to the court in 2008, and re-elected in 2016. Trosch received her bachelor’s degree in philosophy and social psychology from Hollins College and her Juris Doctor Degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law. 

The event is open to the public.
