Woman Accused of Front Royal Arson Found Competent

19 July 2019 Front Royal/Warren County News

A woman accused of committing a Front Royal arson in April was found competent to stand trial this week.

73-year-old Fontella Fewell was charged by Front Royal Police with burning or destroying a dwelling after allegedly causing a fire at 602 East Stonewall Drive on the night of April 23rd. The two-story, single-family home took firefighters a half-hour to extinguish. The blaze there caused $100,000 in damages, and resulted in one person being transported to the hospital for exhaustion. Fewell was arrested on April 26th, and Judge Richard Claybrook Jr. ruled on her competency Tuesday (7/16/2019) in Warren County General District Court. She will appear again in court on September 4, 2019.
