13 February 2017 News
At 5:57 Friday morning, February 10, the Woodstock Fire Department was dispatched for a structure fire at 164 N. Main Street in Woodstock. First arriving units found heavy fire in the rear on the first and second floors and the attic.
Despite efforts to make entry into the structure, crews were unable to safely perform an interior fire attack and transitioned to defensive operations soon after arriving on location. The fire destroyed the building of origin which was later demolished for safety purposes. However, firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring structures.
One resident was inside the building at the time but was able to escape with no injury. The cause of the fire and origin of the fire are still under investigation.
