11 May 2017 News
The Woodstock Police Department is planning to have its 6th annual Community Safety and Wellness Day this Saturday. The event will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Central High School campus in front of W.W. Robinson Elementary School and is completely free. It will showcase numerous emergency service agencies, community services and businesses in our area. There will be food, games, activities for children, demonstrations, a bike rodeo, raffle prizes, bike helmets provided by Valley Health to children (while supplies last), exhibits and much more.
There will be a fire truck pull competition at 12:30pm. There is a $100 entry fee and all proceeds in this event go to the Special Olympics. The team that raises the most money however, will get a separate distinguished award. If you are interested in competing in the fire truck pull please contact Officer Josh Wilberger at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The department is letting the public know the event is set to go on rain or shine. It will only be adjusted if the weather becomes dangerous. If the conditions pose a threat, the event will be moved completely to inside or canceled. A large part of the events are already set up to take place inside the school. If the bike rodeo is not able to take place, Valley Health will still be giving out helmets and a few bicycles as prizes.
Community and Safety Wellness Day is free and open to the public however donations are welcome. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics. For more information visit the Town of Woodstock Police Department website.
