Woodstock Vehicle Crash Causes Power Outages and Traffic Closures

19 July 2017 News

On July 15, 2017, sometime before 1:14am, a motor vehicle crash occurred across from Cooks Exxon in Woodstock in front of the Citgo Quik Mart involving a vehicle into a power pole. West Reservoir Road was forced to be closed from Henry Ford Drive to Motel Drive for several hours.

Utility companies Dominion Power and Shentel were on the scene of the crash at around 2:00am. Due to the crash, water tank high pressure systems were without power and power in the area of West Reservoir Road was out for several hours. Additionally, citizens west of Henry Ford Drive on the high pressure system experienced service interruptions.

West Reservoir Road was reopened around noon. The driver of the vehicle was treated and released at the scene and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.
