Sports Dogs Podcast: The Road To Week 1- Skyline and Warren County previews

With the high school football season just weeks away, The Sports Dogs will be highlighting our area teams in the next few podcasts, starting with previews of Warren County and Skyline.

The Duke interviewed Warren County AD Matt Waddas to discuss the football team and the other fall sports at WCHS and then headed over to Skyline for their practice and interviewed Brently Grindle, Ryan Held, Brady Lupton, Lane Kenney, Adrian Schmitz and All State Running Back Zayden Burks.

The Dogs also discussed the recent VHSL classification recommendations.

MPD investigate a stabbing in Martinsburg

On August 3 the Martinsburg Police Department (MPD) became aware of a man having been stabbed in the 600 block of West King Street.

Paramedics responded to the area at approximately 8:20 p.m. to find the victim and begin immediate aid.

The victim was transported to the hospital emergency room with a stab wound to the chest.

Police canvassed the area immediately after being notified of the incident and talked to possible witnesses.

There is an active investigation to determine if a second victim was possibly involved according to The Times Virginia News report.

There is no word on the current condition of the first victim, and no suspect has been identified in the incident.

Police are asking for business, homeowners, or dash cam users to review footage in the area for any information in the stabbing.

Security footage should be reviewed from 8 to 9 p.m. Monday August 3.

Any footage should be delivered to the MPD or call 304-264-2100 even if you think it insignificant.

This investigation is in the early stages with additional information expected at the conclusion.

The American Red Cross has declared the second national blood crisis in its history.

All blood types are needed, but the situation is especially dire for type O.

The blood supply fell nearly 25% in June, and blood donations are now at a four-year summer low.
