Frederick County Man Facing Multiple Charges after Arrest

Frederick County Sheriff Lenny Millholland confirmed by text the arrest of a Frederick County man. The man now faces multiple charges following his arrest August 18. Jared Ryan Thompson was found in a shed in Cross Junction with three pounds of marijuana along with materials consistent with distribution. A bullet was also found in the shed Thompson was staying in which added to his charges as a convicted felon. Further investigation discovered that Thompson was implicated in break ins at two Cross Junction homes including an attempt to assault the residents. Thompson is charged with 2 counts of attempted breaking and entering, 2 counts of destruction of property, and a count of possession of burglary tools. In addition, Thompson will see a charge of possessing more than a pound of marijuana with intent of distribution. The 33-year-old Thompson is being held without bond at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.

Culpeper Truck Driver Charged with Reckless Driving on I66

Virginia State Police report by email charges being placed against a Culpeper truck driver. Christopher R. Mattingly of Culpeper with reckless driving. The charges follow the tractor trailer crash that occurred Tuesday in Warren County. At approximately 2:45 a.m. Mattingly’s tractor trailer ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, overturned, slid, and struck the left side guardrail of Interstate 66. This occurred in the westbound lane at the nine-mile-marker. No injuries occurred in the crash which remains under investigation.
