Law enforcement across Virginia including Winchester Police Department and Warren County Sheriff’s Office are participating in Saturation Saturday August 29.
Law enforcement agencies are teaming up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving in a coordinated effort to combat impaired driving ahead of Labor Day Weekend.
Impaired driving patrols and check points can be expected August 29 and beyond.
Warren County is especially busy over the Labor Day weekend with 66, 81, Routes 340, 522, 55 all converging into the county.
That combined with the Shenandoah River and Shenandoah National Park entrances large amounts of holiday traffic can be expected.
Thousands of visitors come into Warren County over any given weekend in the fall and impaired driving will not be tolerated according to Sheriff Cline.
The August 29 Saturated Saturday effort is in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign.
Certain prescription medications, marijuana and certainly alcohol can impair your driving.
A designated driver, an Uber, taxi, or rideshares are going to cost less than a DUI fine.
