The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) reports the arrest of a man suspected of being involved in student overdoses.
Isaac Melendez-Carranza of Sterling was arrested August 20 for fentanyl distribution.
Following a thorough investigation into fentanyl distribution Melendez-Carranza was charged with two counts of Distribution of a controlled substance and a count of selling drugs near certain properties.
During the investigation Melendez-Carranza was identified as a suspect connected to overdoses of students at Park View High School in May.
During the execution of search warrants authorities seized suspected narcotics and U.S. currency.
The 31-year-old Melendez-Carranza is currently being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to have a frank discussion with their children to warn them of the dangers and deadly consequences of illicit drugs and counterfeit pills.
Be aware that illicit pills and powders may contain fentanyl without the knowledge of the user.
This can make experimentation with pills extremely dangerous.
